Book Giveaway: Rawvolution by Matt Amsden

Well, I’m a few days late for this aren’t I? The Passion Play is right around the corner and I’m still sewing costumes. I also had a sore throat for a day or two but I feel much better now. To say it’s been busy, would be an understatement, but I’m still staying positive and moving forward!

I do believe I have a book to give away, right?

Rawvolution

Here’s the book, Rawvolution by Matt Amsden. Matt Amsden is a raw food chef
.

Taken from his site…

Matt began eating a diet of exclusively raw foods virtually overnight after hearing a radio interview, with author David Wolfe, in 1998. Soon after, Matt started the world’s first raw meal delivery service, and along with his wife Janabai, a raw café in Santa Monica, California. Matt has shared his talent with thousands including Alicia Silverstone, Cher, Susan Sarandon and super-model Carol Alt.

This giveaway will be open for the month of April. Keep checking back to this entry since I might add something else to this giveaway or include it as a separate giveaway.

How do I enter the Book giveaway?

  1. Leave a comment in the comment section letting me know some of your favorite raw foods and link back to this post on your own site. The types of raw food you like  doesn’t have to be gourmet raw food, it could be a special salad, fruit, veggies, etc.
  2. If you include a raw food recipe post on your site, and link back to this post you receive another entry.

I’ll be using the random numbers generator to determine the winner.

Contest Ends Wednesday, April 30

No, thanks, Opal. The book sure looks good and much as I would love to have a copy, the postal charges will be killing…so never mind, I’d give it a pass.

And talking about raw food, we do have in our traditional ethnic cuisine, umai – or raw fish (as in sashimi) but they squeeze lime juice all over it so I think the acidity would “cook” it.

Other than that, we have the “ulam”, our Malaysian salad. We eat vegetables such as long beans, four-angle beans, cucumber and so on, raw (or lightly blanched/boiled or steamed) with our dried prawn paste and chili dip. In fact, I have a post on it coming up very soon in my blog. Look out for it!

Then there is our “rojak” or fruit salad – all raw…the cucumber, pineapples, turnip and at my favourite cafe in town, Payung, they have all kinds of raw stuff in their version including torch ginger flower petals, Thai basil and umbra leaves.

Jennifer

Hi there! So sorry I fell off the face of the blogworld for a few days but I’m back today and will be back on Monday – hopefully fully re-charged! More explanation on my blog 🙂

Anyhow…I will be linking back to this often next week and posting some recipes, etc.

As for my first entry today – a post about some of my fave raw foods! Well! I do like to keep it simple 🙂 I LOVE raw veggies and salads of all sorts. But you also know that I enjoy the Dehydrating Journey as well!

I have been going more and more into smoothies and have juiced in the past and hope to get back to that again very soon!

I would like to try and do some more simple-gourmet if possible. Altho…it’s hard to find many of the ingredients in my area so the easier the better with the ingredients! BUT…I do like the ones with few ingredients in the recipe as well! (Heck, I can’t even get young coconut here! Sheesh!) Anyhow…sorry for the ramble.

More next week 🙂 More linkage, more recipes, more mentions! Have a great weekend! Thanks for the opportunities to win this raw book 🙂
