Disturbed: Sounds of Silence

I really love the original by Simon & Garfunkle, but this version (by Disturbed) is really good also. I’ve always liked that heavy metal band.

The Sounds of Silence
Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

“Fools”, said I, “You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you”
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, “The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls”
And whispered in the sounds of silence

Gete-Okosomin: Cool Old Squash

I thought this was fascinating. This squash was rediscovered a few years ago. The seeds were found in a clay jar. The seeds was dated to be around 800 years old.

In other news…

It’s been so busy around these parts. I’m happy to say that the BFs scarf is almost finished. Guess what? He’s joining my parents, my daughter and me for Thanksgiving tomorrow! I cannot wait to see him. It seems like it’s been forever; however, I saw him last Saturday.

Hello – Cover by Taps Mugadza

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon Taps version of Hello. I must say that I like it better than Adele’s version and I like hers also.

…and here’s the original by Adele.

Video: Crazy… this is not Patsy Cline

Several months ago, I stumbled upon the video that I’m sharing below. Guess what? Yesterday, I could not locate the video. A friend posted “bad singing videos on my FB page,” and it started a compilation of all these bad singers. I mentioned the video below and also mentioned I was unable to locate the video. Well guess what? Facebook friend was able to find that video and he shared it on my Facebook page.

If you actually make it to the end, you will see he actually does have a great voice. Shortly after the 3:00 minute mark he sings “normal” aka just like Elvis” for a few seconds before lapsing back into the screaming.

Dj Mirko – Firework (Put Your Hands in the Air)

I love all types of music. This is the type of music I usually listen to when I’m working out or doing work around the home. Enjoy!

The Zombies: She’s Not There

The first time I heard this song, was in the mid 1990’s. I was in my friends boutique, getting ready for a night out on the town. The version I heard was the cover by Crowded House. I’ve included the original by the Zombies below. Enjoy!

The Zombies: She’s not There

Well no one told me about her the way she lied
Well no one told me about her how many people cried
But it’s too late to say you’re sorry
How would I know why should I care
Please don’t bother tryin’ to find her
She’s not there

Well let me tell you ’bout the way she looked
The way she’d act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she’s not there

Well no one told me about her, what could I do
Well no one told me about her, though they all knew
But it’s too late to say you’re sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don’t bother tryin’ to find her
She’s not there

Well let me tell you ’bout the way she looked
The way she’d act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she’s not there

—— electric piano ——

But it’s too late to say you’re sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don’t bother tryin’ to find her
She’s not there

Well let me tell you ’bout the way she looked
The way she’d act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she’s not there

Video: Raccoon stealing cat food

Like a boss…

This is hilarious! It’s cute how the raccoon is washing off the kibble before it eats the food. It also appears that she recently had babies. Check out her nipples. I’m crying over the cats reaction. It appears that the cats don’t know what to think.
