This has to be my favorite song by Toto, the drummer’s profile reminds me of a young Stephen King. I’m guessing it’s the glasses. π
The next few days will be busy as I prepare to get back into a working out of the home part-time basis on Monday. Of course, I’ll have to decorate my office space with some hand crafted goodies I most likely will make some type of knitted amigurumi, I still have a few days to make something. But what should I make? Decisions, decisions… π
Toto: Africa lyrics
I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She’s coming in 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way,
Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, Hurry boy, It’s waiting there for you
CHORUS:
It’s gonna take a lot to take me away from you
There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never have
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what’s right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what’s deep inside, frightened of this thing that I’ve become
CHORUS
(Instrumental break)
Hurry boy, she’s waiting there for you
It’s gonna take a lot to take me away from you
There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never have
Seriously…I have always LOVED this song! One of my all-time-faves!

Thanks for sharing the song. Hadn’t heard it before! Have fun decorating your office. π The question is: will you be able to work with the knitted amigurumi staring at you? They will be calling, “Knit more friends for us!”

Hi @curls and q, Glad to introduce you ton a song that you haven’t heard before, my musical taste is all over the place so you’ll find all sorts of music reference here.
You’re right, the amigurumi will be calling for friends. I’m actually leaning towards a giraffe, that might be crocheted though.

A song I haven’t heard in awhile and to this day I remember someone telling me the song reminded them of me. I have no idea why. LOL
Congrats again on the new work you have before you. And please, no crocheting on the job. π

Well the song is pretty @Beth Ellen Nagle, So I’d take it as a compliment. I promise I won’t do any crafts on the job unless its my lunch break. I have read that some people actually crochet or knit while they are working, I must be honest and say I was shocked. If you have time to crochet or knit when you’re not on a break, most likely that person needs more work to do… π

I love TOTO. Haven’t from them for a long time now… Ya, sometimes we have to take some time to do things we never have instead of sticking to the same old routine. There’s certainly more to life and it is up to us to live it…to the fullest.

I definitely agree @suituapui, sometimes people get set in their ways, and refuse to check out alternatives… if they did they might find that those are nice too.
