Juice Cleanse: Raw apple juice

My juice cleanse is going well. In fact, my daughter has joined me for one meal. I guess she want’s to support her mommy, right?

Late this afternoon, my daughter asked if I would make her apple juice. Since my Breville (centrifugal juicer) does a much better job of juicing apples than my Green Star (masticating juicer) it was given the job of juicing the apples. I asked her, “Do you want me to add anything else to the juice?” Her reply, “No mommy, just apples!”

Health benefits of apples

  • They are loaded with phytonutrients that have powerful antioxidant effects when consumed
  • Liver cleanser
  • Helps reduce cholesterol
  • Apples contain flavonoids which can help prevent asthma attacks
  • Great for the heart. Apples contain polyphenol and flavonoids which are beneficial for a healthy heart.

Apples do have wonderful health benefits, they are also high in sugar. So if you’re watching your sugar intake, keep that in mind.

  • 6 apples
  • Add to juicer
  • Juice and enjoy!

If I had my way, I would have added a bit of cucumber, grapes, ginger and perhaps lemon. But it wasn’t about me, now was it? My daughter did tell me that this juice tastes better than the organic apple juice that I occasionally purchase from the store. I’d hope so!  This was freshly juiced a few moments before it was consumed, which which meant all the nutrients were readily available to be assimilated by her body.

Oh by the way, my daughter was kind enough to let me enjoy some of the delicious juice also. 😉

    That’s so cool that your daughter is joining you! My favorite apple is Pink Lady 🙂 YUM! DH and I have been snacking on them but we got some Red delicious this last time and they aren’t as tasty so I might juicing them instead.

    @Jennifer, Yes she is all sorts of awesome. Last evening, she showed me a daily list she created. On the list, she included time for juicing and she added when she would be consuming her raw coconut oil too! Raw coconut oil is so good for you; anti-fungal, antibacterial, skin softener and a whole host of other things that are bodies crave.
