“Betty White died!” My mom told me this hours ago. I was a bit surprised; I know she was s 99, and not too many people live that long; however, It surprised me. I first saw her in the sitcom The Golden Girls. I loved that show; Dorothy (Beatrice Arthur) was my favorite character from that series. Although the character was much older than me, our mannerisms are similar. It wasn’t until years later that I realized that Betty White had been acting for a long time. Then, I saw an episode of Mama’s Family, and there was Betty. I later discovered she was also on the Carol Burnette show. Betty seemed to have a full life and was adored by her fans. Both sides of my family have members that live to their 90’s and quite a few have lived past that point. The oldest that I’ve personally met was my aunt Emma, who was 106 years old when she died. She lived three years past the last time I saw her. Three of my dad’s aunts lived past 100.
2021 went by in a blur for me, a lot of new beginnings, triumphs, and challenges, but through it all, I’m here, and I have a lot to be thankful.
I am wishing you all a fabulous 2022.
When I heard this awful news about Betty passing I texted my sister and mom immediately. So very said. What a career! What an advocate! What a champion. She will be missed. There will never be another Betty White.
She had an amazing career. Not too many people live to be her age, so she was blessed. 🙂
I loved The Golden Girls. R.I.P. Betty White.
A Blessed and Happy New Year to you, Opal, and to all your loved ones too.
Me too. Betty appeared to be a great person. She lived a long full life, and that’s fabulous. I’m wishing the same for you and our family.
