The past few weeks, I’ve been incorporating jump rope exercises into my fitness routine. You really don’t need to go to the gym or use fancy equipment to stay in shape. You can use your own body to do that.
The above video gives you some great options of what you can do with a jump rope. I’ve found jump rope to be one of the best cardio workouts. It might look “Easy” but it’s definitely a lot more challenging than it looks. I jump rope for fifteen minutes daily. This morning, my calves are really feeling the burn and that’s great. It shows what I’m doing is working. Start at your own pace and keep moving.
I’m a long ways from even thinking about jumping rope. However, I’m well on the way to improved fitness, making it to the gym pretty steadily since the first of the year. I’m there 1.5 to 2 hours 5 or 6 days a week. Earlier in the week, a total stranger stopped me to tell me that he had noticed my resolve and improvement over the last few months.

@Mike Goad, That’s great news. We all have to start somewhere. I’ve done the same thing with people gone up and congratulated them on what they are accomplishment. Regardless of the fitness level someone who perseveres can be a source of inspiration. I can think of one lady in particular who was an inspiration for me. She was 100 pounds overweight and kept focusing on the goals she set for herself. I do remember she was a bit surprised.

@Jennifer, It’s a great workout, I’ve been doing it daily since I purchased the jump ropes. Sometimes my daughter joins me also. I do it in the morning and again in the evening.
