My daughter successfully completed the eight grade. My goodness, where has the time gone? Sometimes, it seems like just the other day when she was born. Her eighth grade graduation was last Thursday. Besides her daily chores, she’s spending her days relaxing.
For her graduation gift, her grandparents (my parents) purchased her a laptop computer. It wasn’t something that I was going to purchase for her, so I wasn’t expecting that at all. She’s really enjoying the computer and has already started drawing on it and researching topics that interest her.
Interesting. She’s about the same age as our granddaughter, Ciera, who just celebrated finishing 8th grade. Unfortunately, she lives in Wisconsin, so we don’t get to see her — or the rest of her family — very often. Next month, they will be taking her brother, Utah, back to his military academy in Roswell, New Mexico, and will be stopping to visit us on their way. Utah will be a senior this year and may continue at the school the following year as they have high school and junior college there. It’s called the New Mexico Military Institute.

@Mike, Congratulations to Ciera! I’m sure you’re looking forward to that trip. My cousin attended a military college. I can’t remember the name offhand, however, when his parents were taking him to the school they stopped by my parents house for a long visit. 🙂
