This past weekend, I stumbled upon James Steward’s video and I was blown away by some of his designs.
I love elegance and classic style with the designs I make and he was giving me it in spades.
What was interesting to me was that he was doing his sewing on HOME machines. Say what? I thought for sure, he’d have industrial sewing machines. Here’s hoping he’s reached a point financially where he’s able to purchase industrial sewing machines for his design business.
I like his little FROG logo that I saw in the background about 2 or 3 mins into the video, too! Cute!

@Jennifer, If you watch the video, you’ll see it on a few other things also. I think he likes frogs. 🙂

I used to alter my clothes, make them more fitting using the traditional sewing machines – the ones with the foot pedals. That was as far as I could go – don’t know how to make clothes.

@suituapui, Well then, you most likely would not have an issue with straight sewing since alterations can be a bit more challenging. The machine he was using, Janome, has the foot pedal and the ability to just push a button while your hands guide the fabric. I much prefer the pedal and use it on my sewing machines even though most of my machines are computerized.
Recently, I’ve been wanting to try out the knee lifter that one of my machines has. I see the knee lift a lot on industrial sewing machines. Some claim it’s better, I’m skeptical but am willing to try it out for myself.
