You know Facebook does have its uses. I’m a member of a few forums on Facebook. Of course, most of the forums are geared towards crafts or natural healing.
Yesterday I stumbled upon this amazing video tutorial on “How to Make Kimchi.” Which is perfect, since I plan to make a few fermented foods this weekend.
Not too long ago, I stumbled upon this knitting bind-off. I love that it is so stretchy. I plan to use this a lot.
Of course, this knitting bind-off is perfect for my dreadlock tubes. I’m currently knitting my third one. It’s nice to knit something for myself now and again. I’m usually knitting for someone else.
My fathers birthday was July 24.
I believe I mentioned in a post about the stainless steel bottle that I’d purchased for him. He loves practical gifts. What I didn’t post was the personalized message that was imprinted on the bottle with my Brother Scan N’ Cut. The reason was simple, I hadn’t created it in time for his birthday.
I finally got around to adding a personalized message. This was my first time using vinyl with my Brother Scan N’ Cut. The blue is actually much darker than what appears in this photo. In fact, it looks black in person.
Knowing that my father doesn’t like anything fancy, I went for a primitive vibe. Result? My dad likes his workout bottle even more. He told me he takes this every time he works out at the gym. He works out several times weekly.
I would consider my father to be a Bible Scholar. He is very knowledgeable about the Bible and will study and read about it hours daily; that’s no exaggeration. While simple, my father’s favorite Bible verse is John 3:16. I decided to include three crosses on the bottle and the scripture.

This is the first time seeing this documentary about Megadeth but nice to see and up close and personal look at Dave Mustaine and the others that made up Megadeth.
A few weeks ago, I noticed that my Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain was acting weird. Instead of the strong whirring noise I’d hear, it sounded weak. It still worked, but it appeared to be a bit sluggish.
That was a cause for concern, but it kept happily juicing everything I tossed at it, until about a week ago when it simple said, “I’ve had enough!” and stopped working completely.
The good news is, that the Breville has a one year warranty on their juicers. I think it should be longer. Yesterday I finally got around to calling and letting them know my issues.
Patty, the representative I spoke with, was pleasant. We chatted briefly how surprised we were that this happened. I’ve read a lot of good reviews about their juicers and the negative reactions are in the minority. She also told me that I needed too…
She also informed me over the phone, and through a follow up email, that the turn around time to review the submitted information is 48 hours. I received a response later the same day and this morning, I dropped off the boxed Breville at my local Federal Express store.
When I arrived at work, Breville had already sent me a mail letting me know that my new Breville would be on its way to my home within 48 hours. Now that’s good customer service. Until my Breville arrives, I’m using my Green Star exclusively. It’s a twin-gear juicer and produces juice at a much slower rate. It yields a bit more juice too. I’ve had it for about seven years.
You bet I would, as I already mentioned I had read numerous positive reviews about the product, I honestly think I got a dud. Also, their customer service has more than made up for the minor irritation that a non-working juicer has caused.

I didn’t get to weave anything this weekend, but I did work on another dreadlock tube! It’s not as colorful as the first dreadlock tube that I made but that’s perfectly fine since this will go perfectly with some of my muted clothing.
About a month ago, I started on this simple moss stitch dreadlock tube. It’s been busy so there have been many days where I did not lift my Hiya Hiya needles to do a single stitch; however, this past weekend I decided it was high time that I completed the tube. In fact, I was knitting this poolside, while my daughter was swimming on Saturday.
I most likely will wear it to work today. Later, I’ll post a picture of the outfit that I’ll be wearing.
