Memories…

This made me smile… I did not have a lot of toys as a child, but the ones I did have were cherished and I took care of them. I have fond memories of the hours spent lost in my imaginary world with a favorite toy.

Growing Up

I still have my first teddy bear, it wasn’t new when I received it at the age of four. It belonged to one of my aunts, she was about 15 when she gave that toΒ  me, and it was my favorite bear for many years. I think the fact that it was given to me by someone who loved it so much made it even more special. Fast forward to the present, despite the fact that it’s obviously ‘well-cared for’ My daughter has claimed it and has a special spot for the teddy bear in her room.

I LOVED this post! Many kids today won’t remember specific things when they grow up because their parents get them everything they want – ya know!? Grrrr!

I’m VERY sentimental with certain things that have been in my family for YEARS…actually you may have sparked a blog post or two! I have Hand Made Dresser from the late 1800’s Norway that I cherish dearly! Might have to write about that soon!

Another item was my Grandmother’s “pinkie ring” that I have kept on a chain for over 30 years.

As for toys – I agree with you – I remember them well – the ones I had. I wasn’t much of a girlie girl growing up but I do remember the ones I had. My sister was into the Barbie’s and I was more into the My Little Pony UNICORNS. But one “doll” I cherished until I could no longer was my “Puff-a-Lump”…I will have to Google that and see if I can find them online….awwwwwww….MEMORIES πŸ™‚

I did do some research on the Puffalump’s! I guess they were 1986 releases I thought they were earlier than that…I remember them well, tho! I hope to post about them in a week or so
