Knitting: Dreadlock tube

In a recent post I mentioned that I’d been knitting a dreadlock tube for my hair. My hair is long and it’s becoming increasingly heavy. I don’t want to cut my locks, but would like to alleviate some of the weight that I’m experiencing.
Knitting Dreadlock tube

Here’s the knitted dreadlock tube that I’ve made. I used some of my coveted Malabrigo yarn and my treasured Hiya Hiya Sharp interchangeable needles. It’s a simple stockinette stitch. Over the past few days, I’ve been knitting the tube (whenever I have a few moments to spare) and now it’s almost complete. I can’t wait to start wearing this. I’ll be making more tubes some knitted and others sewn.

You spent $150+ on what…

4 qt. Enema bucketI’m sure some folks would think I’m crazy for spending so much anything related to enemas, but I’ve always followed a different path than most when it comes to my health.

Although I’d been thinking about purchasing a stainless steel enema bucket for months, I held off and kept using my 4qt. enema bag. However, when I thought about it, I realized purchasing something like that will last me a lifetime.

Last week, I purchased the 4qt.stainless steel enema bucket from Optimal Health. I must say that I’m pleased with the purchase.

Why do I prefer my stainless steel enema bucket

  1. It’s not made out of rubber like the 4 qt. open ended enema bag
  2. I can see inside as I fill with whatever solution I’ve planned to use for the day
  3. It’s easier to clean
  4. I’m not worried about the rubber leaching into my enema solution

Although I consider myself to be “healthy” I am convinced of the wonderful benefits of cleansing your colon with enemas so yes I do use them.

It’s warm, and I’m knitting…

It’s a warm day here in Maryland and I’m knitting. Can you believe that? The reason is, my dreadlocks are very long and weigh a lot. Much more than normal hair. To take the weight off the hair root, I’ve decided to knit a tube to place my hair inside. Since it will lift my hair up it will take some of the pressure of the hair root. A bit hard to describe in words, but I’ll be sure to post pictures sometime this week.

My first dreadlock tube is being made with the super squishy malabrigo yarn. Can’t wait until it’s finished so I can start using it for my hair.

Hanging in the sauna

My gym workouts are always intense, I’ve found that the perfect end to an awesome workout is spending time in the sauna.

I normally stay about an hour in the sauna. Sometimes I do sauna rounds and other times I’ll just stay in the entire time. Of course, I make sure I stay hydrated.

Countdown…

The past few weeks have flown by. This past weekend, I had a small birthday for my daughter and her two best friends. It started at 10:00 and ended at 4:00 p.m. My daughter, and her two friends, had so much fun and so did I. The party started at the movie theater where we saw Malificient. We all loved it and then I took them to the Disney store where they were able to pick out one item for themselves. The final stop before returning to our house was stopping at a restaurant to bring home food and while I should have been tired with all the running around that we did, I wasn’t. I didn’t go to bed until well after midnight. Not too bad for a person that had only received three hours of sleep. 😉
