Judging by my most recent posts, it’s obvious that fermented foods is top on my list. I’m really excited about fermenting on an active basis. Before, I just did it now and again.
I will readily admit the biggest turnoff for me, was the wait time; however, I must not look at that as the negative aspect of fermenting. In actuality, that’s one of the most important steps to making fermented foods so healthy.
Recently, I wrote a post about Fermenting Crocks.
@suituapui, Yes, these do look lovely. I do hope they measure up. I’ll be getting one more crock, another brand that has a well where you can add water. I’ll see which type I like the best.
In the comment section, I mentioned to suituapui, I’ve decided to purchase a few different fermenting crocks. The first fermenting crock, the Ohio Stoneware crock will arrive tomorrow. I’ll also be ordering a TSM fermenting crock. I chose the 15L size, which holds a little over 4 gallons.
The TSM crock, costs a bit more than the Ohio Stoneware crocks. I decided to purchase one of those because of the reviews.
What I like about the TSM fermenting crocks is that they have a “well” that you fill with water. I’ll see which I like better and purchase additional fermented crocks based on my review.
More lovely crock pots! Interesting. Personally, I prefer the earlier ones though, the shape and colour.

@suituapui, I love this one the most because of its shape and color. 🙂 The one above goes well with the decor, seems less effort for fermenting, but we’ll see. The proof will be in the actual fermentation, not the advertising. 😉

Is the link below similar to this one you are writing about here?

@Jennifer, Yes, but mine was much cheaper. I have the TSM crock and I ordered it from Amazon. 😉

@Opal,
I’m really wondering if I need that BIG of a one…not sure if I would be that into it that often and it’s only the 2 of us at home and I probably would eat more of it than my husband! LOL 😉
I should probably start small, right?

@Jennifer, It’s up to you. I make food in bulk so for me something like this was perfect. Also, I’ll be using this for kombucha, so I’ll definitely be bottling a lot of the fermented drinks. It’s just my daughter and myself so I’m in the same boat. 😉

I wonder if this one would work well for me?

But I do like the looks of the others, too

this last one is the same type but a 5 liter instead of a 15 like I originally posted.
What do you think!?
Jennifer recently posted..Furkids/Family Medical Updates & Timeline
@Jennifer, Similar, but not the same. I personally would not purchase that because of the handles. Those are just grooves, mine are actual handles which means my fingers can wrap around the handle securely. That’s important when dealing with a heavy crock, you need a secure grip. The crocks that were shaped like this received complaints from those who were reviewing them. I personally stayed away from this brand for that reason.

@Opal,
Doh! Sorry! That one link was supposed to be this one instead…

BUT…I think even on this one they are grooves and not handles???

@Jennifer, Yeah, that’s the same thing. Here’s a much better option with handles. This is also by TSM.
