Liferegenerator: Wild Herbal Lemon Ginger Blast Juice

Another one of my favorites videos, love Teresa Jordan’s (aka Raw T) ponytails. She’s married to Lonnie Jordan, founding member of War.

What’s even more impressive is that she’s was in her early fifties when this video was made. I think she was 54?

She’s in phenomenal shape and she’s gorgeous. Just look at her skin, hair and her eyes. She’s glowing! I love that! Lord willing I’ll still be in phenomenal shape when I reach her age. That’s a little under 11 years from now…

Lady Crush

(n.) an overwhelming sense of awe felt for another lady, elicited by varying causes ranging from deep respect to giddy enthusiasm.

Ok, ok, ok… enough of the lady crush that’s going on in here. I love the kitchen in the photo. It’s set up similar to ours. The cabinets look identical to ours along with the slate floor. With the exception that we have dark marble for the counter tops and center island.

Teresa is a raw foodist. I’m guessing she still is one, although I haven’t read too much about her in a few years.

Of course watching the video made me eager to start juicing with produce from my own garden and picking wild crafted herbs during my daughter and my travels in our woods.

I love all the seasons, so yes… I am enjoying the frigid temperatures we’ve been receiving over the past several weeks. For myself, it’s all about being thankful for what you have and making do with what God has brought into your life. This past week, it was below 0 for a few days. When Spring arrives, I’ll enjoy that also and will be happy when I can use my own fresh produce in my juicers (Breville and Green Star) and also my blender (VitaMix.)

Passion Play: Sewing and…. weaving!

This past December I posted the the Christmas version of the Piano Guys video, O Come O Come Emmanuel. I love those guys and the song is one of my favorites.

Of course, I’m drooling over some of the beautifully woven period costumes displayed throughout this video. One of my long term goals is to make some period outfits with my 32″ Kromski harp. I’m still learning how to weave so that won’t be happening immediately, but in time… we’ll see what I can create.

Anyway, in that post I commented on the period appropriate costumes that were used within this production and in my mind I was hoping that I would get a chance to do just that with our church’s upcoming Passion Paly.

Earlier this morning, I received an email from the director of our Lutheran Church’s Passion Play. Practice has already begun for that, in fact I was at the play practice last evening taking measurements.

Within that email the director sent me the video I listed below. He asked me if I could make similar costumes for Jesus and the adulterous woman. I will say that this is an answer to prayer, getting the director to have a similar vision as mine with the costumes.  I want too design with appropriate cloth for that time period.

Since I’ve already volunteered my time, that should not be an issue. Also, I have plenty of time to complete the two costumes. You want to know something? I’ll even be weaving! Yep, that’s right! See the drape around Jesus’ neck? I’ll be weaving something similar.

Juicing Adventures: Pineapple Apple Juice

No this isn’t the lava juice I mentioned in yesterday’s post,  there’s nothing spicy about it and my daughter loves it. What’s in it? Just pineapple, apples and a small amount of greens. A bit to sweet for my tastes, I’d have to tone that down a lot with a lot of greens, but this drink suited my daughter just fine.

When the weather gets warm, my daughter will be clamoring for homemade popsicles.

I’ll pull out my popsicle molds so my daughter will have some delicious frozen treats. Since they’ll be freshly juiced it’ll be much healthier than the popiscles that can be purchased at the local store.

Juice Cleanse: Nothing but dark leafy greens

One of my favorite juices consists mainly of dark leafy greens; collards, kale, dandelion, mustard and a variety of other dark leafy greens make their way into my Green Star. I typically add garlic, ginger, lemon or lime and some type of hot pepper.  I find the citric acid from the lemon/lime cut down on the some of the bitterness of the dark leafy greens and all you can taste is the savory aspect of the drink. If I want natural sodium I will add four to six celery stalks. I’m actually craving one of my dark leafy drinks now, but I’ll hold off and wait to juice tomorrow morning.

If I have time I’ll share my ‘lava juice’ recipe. My daughter took one sip of the drink I made and gave it that name. The freshly made juice was very delicious, spicy and hot.

Slingshot Ride: Guy passes out twice

I remember seeing a similar ride about fifteen years ago at Hershey Park and while I wanted to get on the ride… the person I was with had no desire to so, although he did say the reason why was because the line was “too long.” Yeah right…

At that time, having been skydiving several times from 14,000 feet in the air, something like this would be easy.

Furbaby adventures: Bunny bonding; friends at last…

Our two rescued rabbits are doing very well. We’ve had them for several months now and can’t imagine our life without them. I will have to say that Oreo (netherland dwarf rabbit) our first rescue has made a lot of positive changes. Initially, I mentioned that she had not been socialized when I adopted her from the Humane Society of Harford County. She was over a year old, when we rescued her and really didn’t like to be held. Fast forward a few months and she grew to love the interaction.

But even though she loved interaction with us, she still wanted no parts of Gracie, our lionhead rabbit. Female rabbits can be very aggressive with other rabbits of the same sex. This means, it can take a long time before they’ve bonded and some times the bonding never happens. Although I was hoping for a positive outcome for both of them, I’d already accepted that friendship might not happen. We received Gracie, perhaps a month after we’d adopted Oreo. You can read about Gracies’s rescue here. Because of this, their time together was heavily supervised.

Those who’ve followed my site, remember the images I posted of Gracie,  shortly after she was attacked by Oreo. That encounter required laceration surgery, and back to square one we went with their bonding. After several months of restrictive bonding sessions, this is where we’re at now… Read More
